A woman from Colorado, who admitted to sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy, and then going on to have his child was sentenced to 90 days behind bars. 31-year-old Andrea Serrano was apprehended

“on a charge of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and sexual assault on a child in July of 2022,”

reports the PEOPLE.

Back in February, the charges were minimized to incest after Serrano took a plea deal, reports KRDO. The deal allowed the woman to avoid jail time; however, she would serve

“10 years to life on sex offender intensified supervised probation,”

according to KKTV, People reports. Despite the plea arrangement, a judge sentenced her to 90 days behind bars, per The Gazette. The minor’s mother requested for the judge to put her in jail. The mother pleaded to the judge,

“It sets a bad example for the community. … There are no consequences… This isn’t right. … She needs to go to jail.”

During a plea hearing, Serrano apologized. She said,

“I just want to say I’m sorry.”

Serrano was being investigated by officials after they received a complaint of

“sexual assault on a 13-year-old child.”

Officials revealed in a press release,

“Through further investigation, detectives learned 31-year-old Andrea Serrano was having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old juvenile male.”

The woman was later arrested after she verified the relationship with the teen.
