29-year-old Taylor Rene Parker who was convicted of killing a pregnant woman and removing out her unborn child has reportedly been sentenced to death, according to reports. A Bowie County jury of twelve individuals, which included six women and six men delivered the fate of Parker, reports TXK Today.
On Oct. 3, the Parker was convicted of capital murder in connection to the slaying of 21-year-old Reagan Michelle Simmons-Hancock and her unborn daughter in New Boston back in October 2020.
The victim’s mother, Jessica Brooks, described Parker as an
“evil piece of flesh demon.”
The distraught mother added,
“My baby was alive still fighting for her babies when you tore her open and ripped her baby from her stomach.”
During the 10 months that led up to the murder, Parker allegedly faked her own pregnancy in an attempt to stop her boyfriend from leaving her, prosecutors say. She reportedly had false ultrasounds as well as wore fake pregnancy disguises. She also threw herself a gender reveal. Parker couldn’t conceive due to having a hysterectomy; however, she informed her boyfriend that she would be
“induced to deliver the baby on the day of the murder,”
reports the New York Post.
Prosecutors added that Parker researched
“how to fake a pregnancy”
as she also watched several videos on baby deliveries
“preterm at 35 weeks,”
which ironically, was how far along the victim was when she was killed by Parker. Back in October 2020, Parker hit the 21-year-old in the head with a hammer and went on to stab her over 100 times in her home before removing the unborn child with a scalpel. Parker then left with the infant, who later died.
