Texas Man Arrested For Intoxication Manslaughter Had Six Previous DUI Convictions

On December 18th, at around 2:45 A.M., Robert Rangel failed to yield to the right of way while leaving an Austin, Texas Chick-Fil-A parking lot, resulting in a motorcycle crashing into his truck. The driver of the motorcycle and the passenger holding onto him were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Fox 7 Austin, officers attempted to conduct a field sobriety test on Rangel, but the 51-year-old refused to participate. The suspect claimed to have been too inebriated and eventually confessed to drinking three vodka and Red Bull mixed drinks at a nearby bar shortly before the accident occurred.
Rangel, who already had six previous convictions for driving while intoxicated, was arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. He is being held without bond.
