An Indiana elementary school teacher is behind bars after telling her 5th-grade student that they were on her
“kill list,”
which allegedly included killing herself and other staff members, NY Post reports.
Police were called into St. Stanislaus School in East Chicago after a student reported to a counselor that they overheard their teacher say they were on the bottom of her
“kill list.”
The teacher, 25-year-old Angelica Carrasquillo-Torres was called into the Principal’s office where she admitted to making the disturbing statement. She was escorted out of the school and was told to never return. Police were notified 4 hours after she was dismissed.
“We were informed of a concerning report from a student regarding comments made by the student’s teacher,”
St. Stanislaus principal Angelica Foy told the school community in an email, obtained by WGN.
“The teacher was immediately removed from the classroom and detained [while] we investigated the incident. After students were safely dismissed, the teacher was escorted off campus and we notified the police.”
Police arrested Carrasquillo-Torres at her home the next morning. No charges have been confirmed as police continue to investigate the incident, reports state.
