Stolen Car Driven By Impaired 15-Year-OldLeaves 12-Year-Old Dead And 11 People Injured

In Aurora, Colorado, an unnamed fifteen-year-old boy in a stolen Dodge Journey was driving at high speeds Saturday night. Inside the vehicle were eight minors between the ages of 12 and 16 years of age. According to 9 News, they collided with a Toyota Tacoma turning left onto the same road, with four people inside: a 31-year-old man, a 29-year-old woman, a 3-year-old girl, and a 6-month-old baby girl.
Everyone involved with collision were sent to a nearby hospital, apart from one, a twelve-year-old that died at the scene. The majority of those transported to receive medical care remain in critical conditions. The identities of the teenaged suspect and their victims have yet to be revealed.
Many locals have said that crashes that occur at that intersection have started to become common, but that this incident has been the worst.
“For some reason, this corner has had accidents in the past and a hit-and-run a while back,” said Steve Rohac, one of residents that lives nearby. “All of the injuries and the death have made me emotional.”
Aurora Police Department have stated that the 15-year-old driver, as well as another passenger, are now in custody for an outstanding warrant from an unrelated incident with additional charges pending. “This investigation is ongoing, but it is believed that the driver was impaired and a contributing factor,” they said.
