Lee tweeted that Bill Cosby stole his idea for School Daze and created the popular TV series ”A Different World.” Both projects are focused on the HBCU experience.

”A Different World”, which was a spin-off of ”The Cosby Show, ” was centered around Denise Huxtable’s character while she attended Hillman College, a fictional HBCU.

Cosby created and executive produced the show and even brought in some characters from School Daze like Jasmine Guy who played Whitley Gilbert.
