Serial Killer In Stockton, California Now In Police Custody After Months Long Killing Spree

In between the months of July and September, a serial killer walked among Stockton, California. Authorities stated that the five victims were not robbed and that the incidents weren’t gang or drug related, but that they were primarily Latino with varying ages. After months of locals being warned not to be in dark or dimly lit areas alone, a suspect has finally been arrested.
Wesley Brownlee was taken into police custody and is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday. According to The Washington Post, the 43-year-old was being followed by investigators, and began to display behavior that led authorities to believe he was searching for a new victim. When he was pulled over for a traffic stop, Brownlee was reportedly wearing dark clothing with a mask around his neck while being armed with a handgun.
“We watched his patterns and determined early this morning he was on a mission to kill,” said Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden during a news conference. “He was out hunting. We are sure we stopped another killing.”
Brownlee has also been linked to two other homicide cases that took place in 2021, making him responsible for at least 7 deaths. Though police have stated that the investigation is ongoing, they have yet to reveal whether or not the suspect had a motive.
