Rudy Gobert or Donovan Mitchell Possibly Gave A Child Coronavirus Through An Autograph

Scott G Winterton, Deseret News
Rhode Island revealed yesterday that it has two new cases of Coronavirus, and both of them are kids.
The Providence Journal reports that one of the children went to the Celtics game in Boston on March 6th, and got an autograph from one of the Utah Jazz players who tested positive to the virus. The two players are Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.
Gobert was the first player to test positive and his status led to the NBA suspending all games for the foreseeable future. On Thursday, he took to Instagram to thank everyone for their support, but there was something else he wanted to get off of his chest.
The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered. At the time, I had no idea I was even infected. I was careless and make no excuse. I hope my story serves as a warning and causes everyone to take this seriously. I will do whatever I can to support using my experience as a way to educate others and prevent the spread of this virus

Utah Jazz announced that Gobert has pledged a $500,000 donation today, and of that $200,000 will go to part-time Vivint Smart Home Arena employees who are out of work due to the halted season. The remaining $300,000 will be equally be divided and donated to families affected by Coronavirus in Utah, Oklahoma and his home country of France.
“I am humbled by the tireless efforts and care of people around the globe for those affected by COVID-19, especially my own communities of Utah and France, in addition to my appreciation for the state of Oklahoma and my care there, and of course, my Utah Jazz family.
I know there are countless ways that people have been impacted. These donations are a small token that reflect my appreciation and support for all those impacted and are the first of many steps I will take to try and make a positive difference, while continuing to learn more about COVID-19 and educate others. Much gratitude, RG.”

Mitchell also gave an update on his health and had some words of wisdom to share with everyone about it.
Thanks to everyone who has been reaching out since hearing the news about my positive test. We are all learning more about the seriousness of this situation and hopefully people can continue to educate themselves and realize that they need to behave responsibly both for their own health and for the well being of those around them. I appreciate the authorities in Oklahoma who were helpful with the testing process and everyone from the @utahjazz who have been so supportive. I am going to keep following the advice of our medical staff and hope that we can all come together and be there for each other and our neighbors who need our help❤️?”
