The music is coming this Friday, as Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion both have releases at midnight. You may remember Megan returned from her brief hiatus via Instagram on Sunday (June 6).
OnSite! discussed exactly what can be defined as a hiatus. Milagro Gramz initially posed the question,
“Was that a real break for y’all? What is a hiatus in 2021?”
In Durrell’s opinion, no one had a better hiatus than Nicki.
“A hiatus is when you disappear completely. [Megan Thee Stallion] … probably just got off of social media, but we still seen her,” he said. “We didn’t see Nicki Minaj at all. We didn’t know what color wig this woman had on, we didn’t know if she had on sandals, heels, a dress. We didn’t know what the hell went on.”
Rah Ali agreed that no one should be visible if they’re truly on a hiatus, adding,
“I think Megan […] took a little break from Instagram, and before you knew it, she was like, ‘I’m back!’”
Rah also playfully joked that Megan’s hiatus would’ve had to last the summer to be considered one.
