Mother And Boyfriend Arrested After 6-Year-Old Boy Found Buried Underneath House

On December 16th, at around 10:45 P.M., Arkansas state police discovered the body of a six-year-old boy inside a Moro, Arkansas home. Investigators believe that the cause of death is from injuries the child has sustained months beforehand. The state medical examiner is expected to confirm these suspicions soon.
According to ABC 15 News, another child, a six-year-old girl, was taken from the home as well. She is currently being treated at Lebonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee for multiple injuries, including burns.
The deceased child’s mother, Ashley Roland, was arrested and taken to Lee County Jail. The 28-year-old has been charged with capital murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence. Roland’s boyfriend, 33-year-old Nathan Bridges, was arrested shortly after and faces the same charges as well.
“Sometimes you’d see the kids outside playing but they really kept to themselves,” recalls Glenda Farrell, one of their neighbors, in an interview. “You’d see them coming and going but really, nothing to be concerning that would make you think anything of that magnitude was going on.”
News of what occurred in Roland’s and Bridges’ house traveled quickly throughout their small town of nearly 200 people. Many residents are devastated to learn about what happened to the children and are left wondering how these events were able to take place.
“I have no idea how they could do that. I have a lot of questions. A lot of questions” said Lanard Walker, another Moro local commented.
