A mother from New York was arrested and is in custody after being accused of murdering her baby after he was born. According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, 30-year-old Andee Wright is a main suspect in the investigation of the death of her newborn son. Reports say she may have purposely struck the newborn on the morning of Oct 5, 2020 which led to his demise.
According to the statement, the woman was alone at her home in Tonawanda. Reports say she gave birth and then allegedly fractured the infant boy’s skull and killed him after striking him twice. People reported that the woman’s boyfriend called officials after he discovered her in distress. The report said,
“Upon further investigation, the infant was found deceased in a garbage can in the basement of the house.”
Medics learned the infant died of
“blunt force trauma that penetrated his head,” per the news outlet.
Reports say the 30-year-old woman
“was arraigned Tuesday on an indictment charging her with two counts of second-degree murder,”
and her bail has been set at $75,000. If convicted, Wright can face a maximum of 25 years to life.
