A Florida mother pens a disturbing note justifying her leaving her child in the car alone. However, the child she is referring to is actually her husband.

Bonnie Engle, who is known for creating comedic parenting content on Instagram scared her followers with a recent video she posted of a note that read,

“My baby is ok… “He has his snacks and his drink!!! I’m in Target. Be back soon!!!”

The video starts with Engle’s showing off the handwritten note taped to an open window. She takes a few seconds before panning the camera over to not a child but to her husband, who is seen snacking on a bag of popcorn.

Engle’s, adding a witty caption to the video wrote,

“Please no judgment; he is safe & well.”

Viewers said they were shocked initially when reading the note.

“I was about to get real[ly] angry,”

one user commented. Another user revealed that their

“heart dropped”

when they read the letter.

Although Engle’s video brought viewers a good laugh it also sheds light on a serious issue. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,

“In 2018 and 2019, a record 53 children died of vehicular heatstroke each year. In 2022, 30 children have lost their lives.”
