Michigan Woman Charged After Creating Catfishing Scheme To Cyberbully Her Daughter

Kendra Gail Licari, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan is now facing felony charges after an elaborate catfishing scheme used to bully her daughter and attempting to frame others, as reported by New York Post.

In December of 2021, Beal City Schools was notified that Licari’s daughter and her daughter’s then-boyfriend were being harassed online. Because the cyber bullying did not occur on school devices and did not take place on the school’s property, law enforcement began investigating.

During the end of spring, FBI analysts discovered Licari was the source of the cybercrimes, despite her using virtual private networks in an attempt to frame other students. Isabella County Prosecutor David Barberi was able to compile 349 pages of text messages and social media activity regarding the on-going harassment.

Licari has been charged with two counts of stalking a minor, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime, and one count of obstruction of justice. On Monday the 42-year-old was released on a $5,000 bond. She since has been asked not to return to her daughter’s school, where she worked as a girls’ basketball coach. Though Licari’s motives are unknown, she is scheduled to return to court December 29th.
