In Van Buren, Michigan, US Marshals located and arrested a man after what officials called a “very significant assault,” after an hours-long manhunt.
According to Fox2Detroit, Dekenta Parchman was wanted by police after he drunkenly arrived to his girlfriend’s home, punched her in the face, smashed multiple ashtrays over her head, sexually assaulted her with a hot hair straighter, and beating her with an extension cord. After three hours of suffering, she was able to escape and notify police with a neighbor’s phone. When police finally arrived to the scene, the 30 year old had already left with the victim’s car.
Parchman was tracked down by the Marshals a week later in a nearby town. He was found with 7 untreated bullet wounds that he spoke about at his bound hearing.
“I got shot 7 times. I got bullet fragments in me. I need surgery. My leg is broken, they shot out my knee,” he said.
With a history of serving time for unlawful imprisonment, drugs, and home invasion, Parchman was given a $250,000 bond.
The victim has spent several days receiving care at a nearby hospital and is still recovering from the incident.
