Man Says He Got Second-Degree Burns From Chemical Peel, Esthetician Said He Didn’t ‘Trust The Process’

A TikToker says an Atlanta esthetician refused to refund his money after paying $150 for a chemical peel that resulted in him experiencing second-degree burns. Neyo uploaded a now-deleted video of the shocking aftermath to TikTok under his username, Neyoprettyboyrealness.

The text on the 16-second clip read,

“Atlanta esthetician refused to refund me my money $150 after getting chemical peel & I have a second-degree burn on my face.”

Neyo also uploaded a video to Instagram detailing his traumatizing experience as he mentioned that he has previously dealt with third-degree burns. He said,

“I’m a survivor of third-degree burns.. 90% of my body and this brings back too many pain, suffering memories.”

In another video, Neyo mentioned that he was able to go to the hospital and luckily, doctors assured him that the damages aren’t permanent. The esthetician Neyo accused of refusing to refund his money responded to Neyo’s accusations in a 20-minute video on Instagram. The esthetician, Shamari-Rene Cherry, noted that she informs all clients of the after-effects of the chemical peel and normally does the procedure as a last resort due to the strength of the method. She continued on to say that the healing process can take up to 10 days or longer

“depending on your skin type.”

The esthetician said following the procedure, she

“sent him home with a post-care kit,”

and told him not to

“pick his face.”

She then insinuated that Neyo failed to trust the process and rushed to the hospital which resulted in the undesired outcome.
