Sadly, a man from South Carolina has died after he was attacked by an 11-foot alligator that dragged him into a retention pond, per the New York Post. The Horry County Police Department noted in a Facebook post that they responded to a call regarding a water rescue on Friday close to 11:45 a.m at a Golf and Yacht club in Myrtle Beach.
The Post reports, police and
“members of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Section and SCDNR Law Enforcement Division”
responded in an effort to help.
Once they arrived, officials learned the alligator grabbed the unnamed man, who stood near the pond, then dragged him into the water. Police retrieved his body from the water and concurred that the alligator should be
“euthanized on site.”
#Clique, let’s keep this man’s family in our thoughts and prayers.
