Man Charged After Fatally Stabbing Heavily Pregnant Sister and Allegedly Setting Her Body On Fire Days Before Baby Shower, Reports Say

A man from California has been taken into custody in connection to the death of his pregnant sister and her unborn son. 41-year-old Aaron Dudley reportedly killed his pregnant 26-year-old sister, N’kya Rebecca Logan, by stabbing her and setting her body on fire merely days following her baby shower.
According to ABC30, a cleaning crew discovered the woman’s burning body on Tuesday close to an apartment complex. One bystander informed officials that they witnessed a suspicious individual moving a garbage bin on an
“unpaved road”
near an apartment complex, and then setting it on fire. Surveillance footage also shows Dudley pushing a bin on the day of the encounter. The suspect was later arrested as he tried to run away from the home in Fresno that he shared with both his sister and mother while officers were enforcing a search warrant at the property.
Logan was 36 weeks pregnant and just had a baby shower on Dec. 11, which was two days before she was killed. Paco Balderrama, Fresno’s Police Chief, described the incident as
“horrific.”
Officials were led to believe the woman was stabbed with an
“edged weapon,”
by her brother. Adding that after the stabbing, he tossed her body in a city garbage bin, carted her four blocks down a
“dirt road,”
and then set her on fire, reports the New York Post.
It’s unclear what caused the stabbing; however, officers were called to the home back in July 2021 when the victim complained that she was worried about her safety. In that particular incident, the suspect was ruled as a threat to not only himself but others and was later placed on a 72-hour hold.
Dudley now faces two counts of murder.
