Las Vegas Man Arrested For Attempting To Stab Women Before Kidnapping Her And Her Three Children

On Sunday, October 9th, a woman in Mesquite, Nevada anxiously called 911. She met dispatchers know that she was in a moving vehicle and needed help. After they were able to discover the woman’s location, police stopped the vehicle, as reported by 8 News Now. Inside, was the woman who notified authorities, her three children, and a man named Justin Carter.
After the woman and her children were taken to safety, it was discovered that Carter had tried to stab her when they were in Las Vegas, kidnapped them at knifepoint, and drove 82 miles to Mesquite.
“The bravery of this woman and her children cannot be overstated,” said Mesquite Police Chief MaQuade Chesley. “They maintained their composure, and she bravely created a plan in her head to call for help as soon as she could.”
Carter was arrested and charged with kidnapping, domestic battery, attempted murder, coercion domestic violence with the threat of or use of force, attempted sexual assault, and resisting arrest. He is now being held at Clark County Detention Center in a $500,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on October 26th.
