Kyrie Irving Wants NBA To Honor Kobe Bryant By Making Him The League’s New Logo

The legacy that Kobe Bryant has left on basketball will always live on. As a result, Brooklyn Nets All-Star guard Kyrie Irving would like for the current NBA logo, which is a silhouette of Jerry West, to be replaced with an image of Kobe Bryant to honor the legend. Irving took to social media Wednesday with an image of how it could possibly look. Captioning the photo, ‘Gotta happen, idc what anyone says, BLACK KINGS BUILT THE LEAGUE.”

Vanessa Bryant, Kobe’s wife, was certainly onboard with the new logo image. Irving and Bryant played together in a game back when Bryant was on the 2012 USA Olympic basketball team.

To celebrate the life of Bryant, players in the league honored him by wearing his number 24 and his daughter’s number 2 at the NBA All-Star game. More than three million people have signed a petition to have the logo changed to Bryant quickly after his death.
