Kidnapped Missouri Children Found Almost A Year Later In Florida Grocery Store

Two Missouri siblings who were reported missing after their kidnapping nearly a year ago, have been found more than 1,000 miles away with their abductor in a Florida grocery store, ABC News reported.

12-year-old Adrian Gilley and 11-year-old Brooke Gilley were reported missing to the Clay County Police Department on March 15, 2022. After a routine vehicle tag check indicated the owner of the vehicle was a fugitive, police in High Springs, Florida made the arrest.

On February 1st, officers found the two missing children with Kristi Nicole Gilley, their non-custodial mother, inside of a Winn-Dixie grocery store with disguised identities. According to a statement by the High Springs Police Department, the children were then taken into the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Family Services and will be later reunited with their birth family.

Gilley was arrested on an outstanding kidnapping warrant. No court case will be scheduled for the 36-year-old until she is extradited into Missouri police custody. Information about the circumstances around the custody agreement has yet to be made public.
