Comedian Katt Williams took it to Joe Budden’s podcast to discuss cancel culture within the comedic world.
He mentions that it’s crucial to adjust as the world evolves. He says the job of a comedian isn’t to offend but to entertain. He said in the podcast,
“if all that’s going to happen is we have to be more sensitive in the way that we talk, isn’t that what we want anyway?”
The legendary comedian continued,
“your job as a comedian is the please the most amount of people with your art. So, if you want to offend somebody, nobody took those words away from you. Dirty b**ch ain’t been taken away, you can say that. But don’t call somebody this word when you know this affects all of these people.”
Williams also touched on cancel culture as a whole, he mentioned cancel culture was created by people of color who ultimately micromanaged
“our own culture.”
