It’s always good to have your parents in your corner when you’re going through a rough time. Our president Joe Biden, who’s also a father stood by his son Hunter’s side as he went through a substance abuse addiction which he lived to tell about.
Hunter Biden sat down with CBS News correspondent Tracy Smith to discuss his new memoir amongst other things like his struggle with crack and alcohol addiction. Tracy Smith asked, “You would wake up some mornings – I shouldn’t even say some mornings, ’cause you slept for, like, 15 minutes at a time – and be looking for crack, and just smoke whatever was there?”
In the clip from the CBS interview, Hunter answered, “Yeah. I spent more time on my hands and knees picking through rugs, smoking anything that even remotely resembled crack cocaine. I probably smoked more Parmesan cheese than anyone that you know, I’m sure” as he chuckled at his actions.
Hunter talked about how his father never gave up on him and was the one who got him help and got him into rehab. More of the interview goes into his relationship with his late brother Beau’s widow, him taking a position with the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma Holdings at the time Biden was Vice President and had a U.S. policy toward Ukraine.
Hunter Biden’s Memoir “Beautiful Things” available on April 6th.
