Chicago rapper G-Herbo stopped by HipHopDX and shared how much certain collaborations helped shape his music career in a recent, pre-coronavirus, interview.
Herbo explained how he felt his Nicki Minaj collaboration on “Chiraq” was a pivotal moment in his flourishing career.
“That song, I started to do shows and shit after that. That definitely was a big turning point in my career.”
He also reflected on some of his earlier co-signs, like Lil Bibby, and how Drake declared the duo “the future”.
“I definitely felt pressure to deliver at that point,” he said. “‘Cause that was around the time he had said what he said, then Kevin Durant had tweeted [it too]. It was getting a lot of buzz. So yeah, it definitely put pressure like damn, nigga really gotta come wit it, for sure.”
Do you think other artist collaborating with Nicki Minaj has catapulted their careers as well?
