Former Employee Arrested After Mask Falls Off During Armed Robbery

A failed robbery attempt has left one woman behind bars. Natasha Otero of Gastonia, North Carolina allegedly attempted to rob her former employer and reportedly dropped her mask in the middle of the heists, per Revolt News

Police say that Otero came into the unidentified establishment with a

“black face mask armed with a handgun.”

According to the outlet,  Otero demanded employees give her the money even

“striking”

one in the head with a handgun. 

During the assault, the suspect’s mask fell off resulting in her identity being uncovered. The employee

“immediately recognized”

the assailant who quickly fled the scene after realizing her blunder. Authorities arrested Otero two months later for another crime after she was found

“shoplifting at a local shoe store,”

on December 27th. 

The 25-year-old woman was charged with armed robbery. It is unclear when she is to appear in court.
