Sadly, a black mamba snake has murdered a man‘s daughter, wife, and nephew in merely one bite, according to Newsweek. The Zimbabwe man, Tapiwa Musiiwa, informed officials that his family is still working through the devastating act. He said,
“This is a family tragedy and we are still yet to come to terms with it.”
The snake is located in multiple countries across Africa, such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya, just to name a few. The snake is also known to be
“the deadliest and fastest snake in Africa,”
reports the South African National Biodiversity Institute. Reports added that the result of their bite can cause fatality within three to sixteen hours if left untreated.
According to Newsday, the attack occurred as Musiiwa’s family was retrieving firewood in Murimbika Village. He told the news outlet that his 21-year-old daughter was attacked by the snake. Her mother then attempted to help which led to her being bitten by the snake on her breast. The 15-year-old nephew was then bitten in his ankles while trying to flee.
Officials tried to help the victims get treatment; however, reports say the process was delayed because the area they were in wasn’t easily accessible as they were a mountainous area. Sadly, Musiiwa’s wife and daughter were declared dead at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital and his nephew was pronounced dead at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital.
