Two people have been shot, one fatally, at a Maryland cemetery during a funeral for a 10-year-old girl who was also a victim of gun violence, CBS News reported.

On Tuesday afternoon, around 1:15 p.m., police received calls about a shooting located at Washington National Cemetery in Prince George’s County, Prince George’s County police Maj. David Blazer said at a news conference. The victims had no connection to the young girl’s funeral.

“What we can tell you about these two individuals, that they were not directly related to the funeral of the 10-year-old girl,”

Blazer said.

“We believe that this was a dispute totally unrelated to what was going on with the funeral, the circumstances leading up to the funeral, the circumstances to the investigation in D.C., this was totally independent of that.”

A man tragically died from his gunshot wounds and a woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the outlet.

One person has been placed in custody, Blazer said per CBS.
