Noname Releases ‘Song 33’ Responding to J-Cole’s ‘Snow On Tha Bluff’ Controversy

Just days after J.Cole released “Snow on Tha Bluff,” responding to criticisms of black artists remaining silent during protests, Noname is firing back with a single of her own.

The one minute track titled “Song 33” directly takes aim at Cole while addressing recent events involving Black Lives Matter and deaths in the Black community.

“He really bout to write about me / When the world is in smokes?,” she raps. “When it’s people in trees?/When George begging for his mother saying he couldn’t breathe / You thought to write about me?”

The single has brought on mixed reactions, as some fans praise Noname for holding people accountable and having important conversations, others are emphasizing her “hypocrisy” for condemning Cole for releasing a song during this time but responding in the same way.
