When are people going to stop messing with the government’s money? There’s been several stories of folks taking advantage of those PPP loans, and NFL player Josh Bellamy is the latest to get caught up.

The NY Jets wide receiver was arrested Thursday after officials say he was involved in a scheme in which him and others applied for more than $2.4 million in PPP loans. Bellamy received about $1.2 million and blew the bag on lavish things like jewelry, designer clothes, and fancy trips.

Officials gave a breakdown saying that Bellamy spent $95,000 on custom jewelry, $5,381 at Gucci and $2,014 at Dior. It was also claimed he blew more than $62,000 during a recent trip to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Funny thing is, Bellamy actually does own a business called Drip Entertainment, but it hasn’t been active since last year. If convicted, he could face bank and wire fraud charges.
