Migos Talk About Educating Themselves On Black History During The Quarantine

The Migos took to Instagram live with Complex and had a chat with Peter Rosenburg about the state of the world and how important it is to use their platform.

During the talk, Quavo reflected on how it’s a sad situation with everything going on, but its been eye-opening to learn about Black history.

Quavo revealed that he had no idea that Beethoven was Black or that there was a Black Wall Street. Quavo told Rosenberg,

“I didn’t know a lot of things, but I just see right now all this information that my people started, its really cool and good to see.”

Rosenberg also asked the group if they had a relationship with Juneteenth growing up in Atlanta. Offset replied, “We were never taught that in school.” Takeoff chimed in, “I actually just found out about that [Juneteenth] literally less than a week ago.” Quavo was the last to answer, saying, “I didn’t know about Juneteenth; all I knew was about July fourth.”

It’s not surprising that most Black folks are just finding out about Juneteenth and other Black history that’s not taught in school.

How are yall educating yourselves through this time?
