An unidentified woman said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies violated her Constitutional rights following her arrest last year. The deputies burst through her door, handcuffed her, and dragged her through the grass naked while she was on her menstrual cycle.
The deputies were initially looking for the victim’s brother, whom she learned was later arrested at a different location, according to NBC. She filed a lawsuit earlier this year claiming the deputies were negligent when they unreasonably searched her home in July 2019 and caused emotional distress.
The Sheriff’s Department declined to respond to the incident and didn’t address the allegations in the lawsuit.
Lawyers for LA County filed a general answer to the lawsuit in federal court with denials to each of the woman’s claims.
