Thomas Macias, 51, died from Coronavirus after attending a barbecue the month before 70 miles away from Los Angeles. He expressed his regret on Facebook on June 20th, one day before he passed.
Macias got tested on June 15th, received his results on June 18th, and died June 21st, according to the Riverside County Office of Vital Records. Before contracting the virus, Macias worked as a truck driver and suffered from diabetes, which made him extremely vulnerable to the virus. His brother-in-law, Gustavo Lopez, said Macias barely went out.
Lopez said because he felt isolated, he decided to visit his friends once the state lifted the restrictions.
A GoFundMe has been started to help pay funeral costs for Macias.
